Socializing and Social Skills
Just as adults may be missing their daily contact with others in the workplace, kids are used to socializing all day at school, often even during class time while they work collaboratively. These interactions provide joy, companionship, and an opportunity to release thoughts and feelings throughout the day. Having even a small circle of family and friends that they see regularly can help kids feel connected and provide deep psychological support.
There are also many social skills that can be worked on during this time at home, perhaps even ones that can help siblings to become better playmates. I have included some social skills exercises here as well, in case you would like to use this time to develop some of these social and emotional learning skills.
